Makeup Organization Tips and Ideas (D.I.Y)

Recently, I  wanted to organize my makeup so i can see what i have and make it easily accessible. I don't have a place in my room  for a vanity, so i needed somewhere besides my bathroom cabinet to store it.  These are the quick, creative and cute ideas i came up with! Enjoy!

Idea #1

If you have an old basket that you keep pens, pencils or markers in, use it as a palette organizer so you can easily display all of your favorites! You can also go to the dollar store and find one like the one i am using, or you can buy the one i have on amazon here:

Idea #2

If you have small votives for candles, or cute little jars, these make the cutest cups to organize your brushes, mascaras and even hair supplies. You can buy these at the dollar store as well.

You will need:
-Votives, or cups or some kind
-washi tape or other decorating supplies

Cover the container with your washi tape and viola! New organizer!

Idea #3

If you have another votive, jar cup etc. you can decorate it using things you  already have at home!

You will need:

        -Hard boiled eggs
        -Watercolor brushes
        -Watercolors
        -Elmer's glue

Taking the hard boiled eggs, crack the shell, and save or throw out the egg . Then crack the shell into little pieces and leave them out on a paper towel for 2 days to dry out. Then remove the membrane pieces and just leave the shell. Take the shells and mix them with the glue. Then using your mixture, spread the shells evenly across the whole cup and let dry. You can repeat this step, adding multiple coats. Let dry overnight. Then paint the shells with a slightly wet watercolor (this is so you get the best color payoff) however you like. I did mine with 2 colors from light to dark giving my jar an ombre effect. Let dry and coat with 1 more layer of glue . DONE!

Idea #4

If you have a wooden tray you can turn it into a cute little perfume or makeup display. You can find this exact tray at Michael's craft store.

You will need:
-Craft paint (I used black acrylic paint)
        -paintbrushes
-Hot glue gun and refill sticks
-Vase filling "GEMSTONES"not beads. If you cant find these at a craft store, You can find them at the dollar store too. If you cant even find them there, you can try to find a Mancala game and use the pieces from that. They are the exact same thing. OR you can buy the ones I have on amazon here:  http://www.amazon.com/Vase-Filler-Confetti-Scatters-Approximately/dp/B00KHWV0Z0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1424024085&sr=8-6&keywords=vase+filler+gems

This diy is very easy. Just paint the tray with your desired color, and let it dry overnight. Using your hot glue, (I used glitter glue sticks for a hot glue gun to give the gems a shimmer effect) glue on the gems on the side of the tray. Easy as 1, 2, 3!

I also have a jewelry box type organizer from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I store my daily jewelry and some of my other daily makeup items! This is great for putting the tray on top of and even the jars and other organizer too! This can save table space. You can buy it on amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Acrylic-Jewelry-Cosmetic-Storage-Display/dp/B00BFGYRYS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424024533&sr=8-2&keywords=acrylic+jewelry+%26+cosmetic+storage+display+box
